Teilweise sind hier Titel gelistet, welche eigentlich im Original mit Gesang sind, aber bereits eine Instrumental-Interpretation etabliert ist oder erst dadurch verbreitet wurden. Manchmal wird gar auf die Gesangsmelodie verzichtet, nur die Bläser-Riffs genutzt oder nur über die markanten Grooves und Harmoniewechsel gejammt.
Die Gesangsmelodie kann natürlich auch instrumental interpretiert werden – insbesondere üblich durch Bläser bei Jam-Sessions.

Generell lässt sich noch sagen, dass Titel bis ca. zum Jahr 1980 als weltweit verbreitete Klassiker gelten, später unterliegt die Bekanntheit manchmal eher einem temporären und regionalen Hype. So oder so handelt es sich um markante gut jam-bare Stücke.
